In her project ‘Musiche Ricercate’, Elisabeth Hubmann sees the technological possibilities offered by the hyper-organ of the Orgelpark as a source of inspiration for new playing techniques. She chooses the eleven piano études by György Ligeti, entitled ‘Musica Ricercata’, as her starting point. The aim is to create an equal number of ‘Etudes for Hyper-organ’, which can be performed on any organ equipped with technology from the Sinua company – such as the hyper-organ of the Orgelpark. Not only does this give Ligeti’s music a different dimension, the hyper-organ itself also reveals itself from an unexpected side. Hubmann composed some of the études herself. For the others, she invited four young composers: Andrea Guterres, Quentin Guérillot, Dimitri Soudoplatoff and Nicolas Roulive. ‘Musische Ricercate’ will be explained and presented by Hubmann and these four this afternoon, and will be performed in the concert.
