International Symposia

Ever since 2008, the Orgelpark organizes the annual International Orgelpark Symposium, in close collaboration with the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam: three days full of lectures, concerts, presentations, workshops, and of course fine dinners. The International Orgelpark Symposium counts worldwide as the essential networkhub for any musician interested in new ways of creating music on pipe organs, for any organ builder rethinking how to improve access to the organ's sounds, and for any listener fascinated by such artists. The variety of topics addressed during the symposia amazes many, not the least because Orgelpark and Vrije University aim to interlink academic and artistic research, as well as historically informed ways of musicking and radically 21st century ones.

More often than not, the symposia lead to publications in the interactive Orgelpark Research Reports, available elsewhere on this site.

Here we present the schedules of the symposia; as well as, in the case of the symposia in 2024 and 2025, films of selected contributions. Most of the contributions include music, often made live.
