Under the banner of The Roaring Twenties, the Orgelpark presents a weekend of five concerts reminiscent of the turbulent period in the arts a century ago, a time of relative political stability when anything seemed possible. A time when jazz and swing influences from America blended with European styles. Bertolt Brecht developed new forms of (musical) theater, Darius Milhaud wrote "La Creation du Monde," which fused jazz with traditional chamber music. Film and film music flourished, and American George Gershwin's star soared. Under the banner of The Roaring Twenties, we present you with a carefully curated selection of concerts that still echo those turbulent years in the arts.
