International Portative Organ Day

International Portative Organ Day is a new initiative by Orgelpark in collaboration with portative organ player Catalina Vicens. This day is about introducing the portative organ that was used in the middle ages by traveling musicians to a new generation of musicians. 

The plan is to organize the iPOD each year from now on, on November 21st: not just at the Orgelpark but at many places, so that a magic day unfolds and connects portative enthusiasts all over the world.

Program

An intensive afternoon with lots of music, to be created by great musickers including Catalina Vicens and Christophe Deslignes, discussions with organ builders including Winold van der Putten, and interactive lectures/workshops on how to activate the portative in both early and new music.
