On Saturday, March 14, the Amsterdam Marimba Weekend will host an afternoon program with artist talks and workshops, preceding the ‘Synergy of Wood - Premieres & Celebration’ concert evening, to delve deeper into the collaboration between performers, composers, and programmers.

In an informal, interactive setting, you will meet Trevor Grahl – composer, professor at the Royal Conservatoire of The Hague, winner of the 2025 Matthijs Vermeulen Prize; Fedor Teunisse - artistic director of Het Muziek, an ensemble for new music; Tatiana Koleva - marimba/percussion, artistic director of AMW & YPP, professor at the Prince Claus Conservatory of Groningen, Rachel Xi Zhang - marimba, professor at the Conservatory of Amsterdam, Kaat Vanhaverbeke - accordionist, composer, winner of the 2024 AMW Composition Award, Beitske de Jong - presentor and Dominique Vleeshouwers - percussionist and programmer.

During this interactive afternoon session, you'll learn more about the creative process and the development of a musical and artistic idea and get in the mood for the impressive concert program that will take place later that evening at the Orgelpark.

Entrance is free, but please make a reservation.
