Modes Of Joy

A select ensemble of (international) jazz greats explores ‘Joy as an Act of Defiance’. The quartet describes joy as a steady breathing stream through your body or your musical instrument. ‘Breath and air are essential for expressing your joy. The organ, like the human body, needs breath and air to sing. No wonder the Orgelpark is the ideal location for the ensemble. The pieces on the programme refer to various expressions of joy such as gratitude, friendliness, community spirit and connection and form a counterbalance to a climate of egocentrism.’
