String quartet ADAM and musician Laurens de Man will convince the audience this afternoon why Amsterdam should stay an 'open city', for the Lutherans could not have survived here if it wasn't for the Amsterdam house concerts. What if they hadn't found their place here? Sweelinck would probably not have become 'Organistenmacher' in Northern Germany. Buxtehude might not have had the chance to become as good as he became, and Johann Sebastian Bach maybe wouldn't have walked to Lubeck at all.
