The Orgelpark organized the 2010 International Symposium in cooperation with the International Association for Organ Documentation. Main issue: how to rethink and secure the roles historical organs can play today, now that secularization seduces the religious to believe that organs are obsolete?

 

As the Orgelpark dedicates its research program to investigating the art of improvisation, a main topic was how not to musick on organs based on scores might provide helpful answers.

 

The results of the Orgelpark's Improvisation Research Project are documented in Orgelpark Research Report #3, available for free elsewhere on this site.

 

As the IAOD was basically Germany oriented, the second and third day of the symposium were in German.
